This event is part of the State of the Science workshop hosted by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) from July 16th-19th, 2024 at Stony Brook University in Stony Brook, NY. Mini TechSurge: Advancing Collaboration and Inspiring Innovation for Offshore Wind Monitoring and Mitigation

Join industry experts, research scientists, government representatives and technology providers for a discussion aimed to:

  • Facilitate conversations among stakeholders in the offshore wind energy sector, particularly tech service providers, developers, and wildlife biologists / environmental scientists.
  • Discuss technologies, tools, and methodologies and how the combination of these can improve monitoring and mitigation of marine species.
  • Produce valuable insights and recommendations on technology applications to be incorporated into an annual effort.

Tech Café

July 18, 2024 | 5:30 – 8:00 PM EDT (times subject to change)

The Tech Café will feature live desktop demonstrations that showcases technologies and platforms that can be used to monitor and measure potential impacts of offshore wind energy development. It is an opportunity to engage with industry leaders, exchange ideas, and make connections with industry experts, research scientists, government representatives, and technology providers.

Exhibit tables are available to showcase your platform or technology at the Tech Café. 

  • Cost to exhibit: $300 for industry and $250 for academic institutions
  • Includes: 4' x 6' table, power access, a tablecloth, and highlights at the Tech Cafe

Students and Early Career Oceans Professionals

Students and early career professionals are encouraged to attend and participate in both events.  They are structured to facilitate new networking opportunities, enable your valued input, and introduce you to a range of technologies and methods relevant to environmental and ecological monitoring associated with the development of offshore wind.

Gold Sponsors

Cost – $2,500 USD. Gold sponsors receive one (1) table at the Tech Café (limited space, first come, first serve), company’s logo on event materials, and 10% of sponsorship will support a student travelship fund to attend the meeting.

Silver Sponsors

Cost – $1,500 USD.  Silver sponsors receive your company’s logo on event materials and 10% of sponsorship will support a student travelship fund to attend the meeting.

Contributor Sponsor

Cost – $1,000 USD. Receive one (1) table at the Tech Café (concentrated on showcasing environmental monitoring research and technology innovations), your company’s logo on event materials, and support a student travelship fund.
